Guyana: A major search and rescue operation is underway off Guyana’s Atlantic coast after the passenger ferry MV Barima capsized while traveling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma late Saturday. This left dozens of people missing and led to one of the country’s largest maritime emergency responses in recent years.The government-owned ferry left Guyana at around 3 pm on July 18, carrying passengers to the island’s North West District.
