For the 2026 registration cycle, USCIS has stated they intend to notify all selected registrants by March 31, 2026. Notifications are typically rolled out in waves during the last week of March.

When will the FY 2027 H-1B lottery results be released?

No. You do not receive a traditional 13-character receipt number during the initial registration phase. You can only check your status by logging into the myUSCIS organizational account used for your registration. Receipt numbers are only issued after a full I-129 petition is filed for a selected candidate.

Can I check my H-1B lottery status with a receipt number?

If your status still says "Submitted" after the initial selection wave, it likely means your registration was valid but not selected in the first round. Your entry remains in the system; if USCIS does not receive enough petitions to hit the 85,000 cap, they may conduct a second lottery draw later in the summer.

What does the "Submitted" status mean after March 31?

The method for checking results remains the same, but the "weighted" system impacts your odds. As of the March 2026 lottery, candidates at Wage Level III or IV received multiple entries in the pool, increasing their probability of seeing a "Selected" status.

Does the new wage-weighted system change how I check my results?

Yes. Under the beneficiary-centric system, individuals can link their own myUSCIS accounts to their registrations. This allows you to see your status independently of your employer or attorney.

Can a beneficiary check their own H-1B lottery results?

A "Selected" status only grants the opportunity to file. If your employer chooses not to move forward within the 90-day filing window (ending June 30, 2026), the selection expires and cannot be transferred to another company.

What happens if I am selected but my employer doesn't file the petition?
